Happy Chinese New Year! (by Julie)

Gung Hay Fat Choy! That means "Happy New Year" in Chinese. All of us dolls here at AG Gossip have decided to learn more about this unique holiday. After researching, we discovered some ways how to celebrate Chinese New Year. People hang wishes written in Chinese on red paper in their homes, write spring couplets, have extravagant parades, and eat large feasts with their families. We all tried to wear a piece of red clothing because the color red is good luck. I didn't have anything red, so I wore pink instead! Hey, that rhymes! Speaking of rhymes, the first thing we did was writing couplets. Couplets are short poems. Here is mine. "Chinese New Year shed your light, bring forth a holiday that's joyful and bright" I was so proud of myself! But, I wasn't the only one who was proud of their poem! Kit up and read hers out loud, "Fortune cookies, so many to pick...I ate too many and now I am sick!" We all laughed. Our next activity was making banners. Chrissa got out some red construction paper and Jessica printed out some Chinese calligraphy and we made banners saying wishes like "happiness" or "friendship". Then we hung them up all over the house. We even found some Chinese lanterns to help brighten the walls! After transforming our house for Chinese New Year we were starved! Luckily, Felicity walked in carrying Chinese takeout for us. She said it was almost impossible to find a Chinese restaurant that was open on Chinese New Year! We had a delicious feast. Of course we had fortune cookies for dessert! Everyone was careful not to eat too many, after hearing Kit's lovely poem. This is what my fortune cookie said, "Take time to acknowledge the achievements of others, you will find satisfaction." Sounds like we need to post the results of our hair do contest. Don't worry, the results will be posted soon! We finished of the day by parading around the house, doing our best dragon dance! We wish you lots of good luck in the new year. Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Meeting the Movers! (By Angela)

Guess what? Today we met the movers, because their moving truck finally pulled away, and we figured it was okay now to visit. So Carely baked one of her famous cassoroles, and we all headed over. Kit pushed by everyone and rapped on the door. Expecting to see a woman at the door, or an elderly couple, we were in fact all surprised to see a girl who looked about our age. There was an akward pause of silence, and then Kit spoke. "Hi, I'm Kit. What's your name." The girl replied, "I'm Jessica." Then we talked for a bit about stuff, and it turns out we liked some of the same things. Roller skating, bicicling, swimming, and just playing! Soon, Jessica and all of us were just talking as if we've known each other for forever! Then, she blurted out, "Do you want to meet my sisters?" At the mention of sisters, three girls appeared at the door who all looked about our age as well. Jessica didn't look anything like her sisters. She had blond, wavy hair. Another one of her sisters also had blond hair, but it was very straight. The other girls introduced themselves as Rebecca, Julie, and Chrissa. Julie was the one with the straight blond hair, and Rebecca had curly, brown hair. Chrissa had short, brown hair. Soon, we were all getting along like sisters! Then, I suggested that they come over to our house. After quickly telling their parents, we all ran to next door! Molly gave a tour of the house, and everyone was giggling like crazy! Then, we came to our computer room, and we were delighted to show them our blog! They liked it so much, that they asked if they become part of AG Gossip. Of course, we all responded YES! They had a few ideas for the site, and we realized that we needed to fit our new friends into the logo. We tried and tried, but we couldn't fit everyone in. So, Chrissa had an idea for a newer, and more improved logo. We posted the new one right here for you to see. They also helped us change the site background for some more fun! So now, I'm going to hand it over to our new friends so they can tell a little bit about themselves!

New Logo!!!

Jessica - Hi! I'm Jessica! My favorite things to do are style my hair, play tennis, and I loooooove having sleepovers! I have blond hair, blue eyes, and I am thinking about getting my ears pierced. I also enjoy doing stunts and dancing. Sometimes, people think I am crazy for being an extreme stunts girl, but I love just moving around! When it comes to fashion, I like being comfty and colorful!

Chrissa - Hi! I'm Chrissa. I love playing sports outside. My favorite sport is swimming, but I also enjoy things like hopscotch and jump rope! But, I'm really bad at hula hooping! Let's just say that I'm an outside girl! I have a pet Llama, and I love to play with her! I love to brainstorm and my friends say I'm creative.

Julie - Hi! I'm Julie! Friends say that I am creative, spunky, and a lot of fun! I like playing basketball, and making bracelets. My favorite animal is the bald eagle, and I am always working to help protect our environment. I love making new friends and playing with them!

Mysterious Movers! (By Molly)

Today on New Years Eve, Marisol decided to go outside and try out her new hopscotch set. The rest of us joined her... Except Samantha. She was too busy on her new roller skates. (She wasn't really good!) Then we heard a rumbling noise across the street. Samantha fell down on her skates, and we all looked across the street. There were several moving trucks pulling into the old house across the street! Kit was the first to take action. As soon as they pulled in, she started running across. Normally, we would have yelled for her to come back, but we were all dazed in the moment. I saw her saying something to the mover, but with the people unloading things into the house, it was hard to hear. Well anyways, she came back with a dazed look. She had found out nothing. But we all wanted to know... Who were they? Where did they come from? Why were they here? I guess we just have to wait and find out ourselves...

Sno Much Fun! (By Angela)

Wow! Today is such a wonderful wintery day outside! A light snow fell last night, so there is a white, shimmery blanket on everything you can see. It almost looks like a different backyard now that is is so snowy out! But the snow is not just happening outside the house, but inside as well! Molly and Felicety are busy making paper snowflakes, and are taping them everywhere! They are even teaching us all how to make them, how fun! Yeah, I kinda admit that we are all a little sad that Christmas is over, because it was so much fun, but we have an exciting New Years to look forward to. Besides playing in the snow, we have all started to think about making New Years resolutions. One of ours is to write in the blog more, because this summer we were having too much fun to remember all the time. Kit's resolution is to bring her cups to the kitchen after she's done with them, and I need to think of mine... Hey if you have any ideas about my new years resolution, please tell me, because I need to figure it out! Also, this January is a very special event that we are all very excited about: AG Gossip's one year birthday! Come back to AG Gossip Doll Blog the first week of January to celebrate with us! Well, gotta go make some snowflakes! See Ya!
